No Stamping Background Card

A couple of weeks ago I attended the Stampin' Up!® OnStage. It is a regular fun event where you get together with other demonstrators (this time it was about 600!), you play around and craft with new product and last but not least you get some wonderful presents.

One of the pressies was this fantastic Designer Series Paper (DSP) called Mosaic Mood. Some of the sheets have a shiny accent that makes it so pretty.

I enjoyed playing around with it. All I needed was a pair of snips, glue, some scrap cardstock for the sentiment and glue. I cut the sentiment with stitched rectangles dies but it would be great just on a piece of cardstock too. The base is Soft Suede and put an insert for it from Very Vanilla.
The flowers are secured with liquid glue and the birds are raised by dimensionals.

What do you think of this paper? It will be available to you to purchase with the new catalogue that is coming in June 2019. Would you like me to send you a copy for you to have a look? Click on the image below, fill the form and I will put one in the mail for you.

Getting a new catalogue, especially the annual one, is always very exciting. However, there is a sad side to it as well - retiring products. Every time something new comes, something old has to go...

Have a look and if you see anything you love, don't hesitate and get it now before it's gone forever! Some of the stamp sets (wooden and clear-mount) are on the list but will carry over to the new catalogue as cling. It might not be important to you but if it is and you'd like to check whether any of the sets you'd like to buy would be available in the new catalogue as cling, send me a message and I will let you know.

And as always, when you shop in my store you earn a special tutorial bundle. A dozen inspirational tutorials from different demonstrators from around the world!

Saying Hello with Varied Vases

Welcome to our blog supporting our April tutorial bundle. Every month a bunch of us are bringing you an exclusive tutorial bundle (scroll down to the bottom of the post for more details) and every month we run a blog hop to show you additional projects made with the featured products. Even though we are small in numbers this month our projects are lined up to wow you. So sit back and enjoy the hop.

I created for you a little set of three beautiful and simple cards. They all have the same design they but each vase is decorated differently; after all, they are called varied vases!
Can you spot another difference between each card? Might not be the easiest to spot from the photos but...

The layers on the first card are glued together with liquid glue and stuck to the card base with dimensionals. On the second card, I liquid glued the scalloped layer to the base and the top layer is glued with dimensional. And the third card layers are all glued with liquid glue and laid flat. Which one is your favourite?

While deciding, hop around and see other projects to maybe spark your creativity or just to please your eyes. In any case, enjoy! Just click on the next arrow to see a project of gifted Margriet Siekman, the back arrow will take you to Lori Schaefer Mueller. Or just choose any other demonstrator from the roll call, if you wish.

Treats for my OnStage Friends

Last weekend I spent in Telford, attending Stampin' Up!® OnStage. OnStage is a fancy word for a stampin' convention. Do you know the feeling when you buy new crafting supplies? Now, imagine - you are getting new things and you see a new catalogue and you are in one room with more than 500 people who feel exactly the same! It's awesome.

This was my third time and I had a blast as always. I love going to these. We always get cool presents, notebooks, pens, new products to play with and new products to go home with. We craft together and laugh together and mingle and ooh and aah over the new stuff. We are learning together and from each other and we share experiences and we just are. It's great and I love this event. The OnStage is definitely one of the cool perks of being a demonstrator (together with a constant discount on your shopping!)

Every year I make some kind of treat for the girls who are sitting at the table with me. And this year wasn't an exception. I made these gorgeous treat boxes.

I filled them with chocolate eggs and I also add a little angel charm. Everyone liked them. They look more complicated than they are. I made a video tutorial for you to give it a go too. Tag me when you do, I'd love to see what you make!

The box base is 3" x 3" and here are the paper measurements.

(2) 5" x 5" of cardstock
2 1/2"x 2 1/2" of DSP
(2) 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" of DSP
3/8" x 2 1/2" of cardstock strip

You will also need a scrap of whisper white paper for the sentiment (large enough to punch out 1 1/2" circle) and a piece of cardstock to cut out 3" x 3" square from it. You will need small magnets. I used three of 5mm x 1mm.

Kre8tors Blog Hop - Spring Colour Challenge

Welcome to this month's Kre8tors blog hop and to the crafting world of springy colour challenge. Today our projects are guided by these lovely colours - Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Highland Heather and Gray Granite.
I love all these cheery colours and in my simple project, I used them all but. It's nothing personal, Daffodil Delight, I'll use you next time.

I love the green/violet/yellow combination. I choose to stamp this time on glossy paper. I haven't done it in a looooong time but I really enjoyed it. I love how the colours applied with Stampin' Blends stays so rich and vibrant. A bit of warning though... it makes a noise that might not be pleasing to every ear. It squeaks! I should also point out that glossy paper can be slippery. If you push the ink stamp too much, it might slide. It also takes a little bit longer for the ink to dry. So make sure you allow enough time for the images to dry. Because I used Stampin' Blends I had to use Memento ink.

I made a video to show you how I made the background and how the card came together. If you like it, give it a thumb up and leave me a comment. Would love to hear from you. What is your experience with glossy paper?

I hope my project inspires you. Maybe you want to craft something beautiful with glossy paper now. Go for it! But before you do that, stick around for a bit and see another post. Either click on the "Next" image below to see what talented Jacqui Lawrence came up with or choose a crafter by name from the list below.
