Eclectic Expressions & Rainbows - Stamp 'N Hop, Round 2 Sale-a-Bration

It's the second Saturday of the month and that means some Stampin' and Hopin'.  I am joining a group of talented people from around the world again, this time to show more FREE Sale-A-Bration products. (scrowl to the end of the post to see Sale-A-Bration in a Nutshell). I wanted to make a card using the beautiful Springtime Foils but wanted to use colours as well so played around a little bit. I decided for the silver stripy paper from the paper set.

First, I tried the blends. It was blending nicely but it was staining the silver strips so I used the markers and coloured in the white spaces. The markers are not sticking to the metallic strips and are easy to wipe so it was quite easy to make the colourful pattern.

The sentiment is stamped with versa-mark and embossed. I didn't use the emboss body so the powder would randomly stick to the paper and make it shiny. Then I stamped another image in versa-mark to lift the powder off the paper. It's difficult to see it in the photo but this created a very settled shiny pattern on the black paper. I finished off with some silver sequins stripes.

The second card was developed quite coincidentally. When I was playing with the blends I smudged my scrap paper. I liked what I saw and decided to use it as a background for my next card. I dry embossed it with Softly Falling and decorated with few little hearts punched out with the cookie cutter punch.

Here is a list of supplies used. I didn't list paper but you can find all the colour here. I used Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and Thick Whisper White.
